This post is an adaptation of a talk I recently gave at the Amazon Web Services (AWS) community day event in Dublin about the technical strategies I’ve experienced that don’t work and the ones that have helped us to grow and scale at Intercom. At Intercom, we’ve found success running Lambda as glue code between AWS services.
I’m referring to the full spectrum of business execution, from product management to design to engineering to marketing to sales to support and all the other functions needed to scale a business. are making it easier and faster for softwaredevelopers to develop complex software applications atop this infrastructure.
Part 3: Measurement One of the great breakthroughs of SaaS as a business strategy is in how it puts users and subscribers front and center of softwaredevelopment and keeps them there. Until your better-and-faster solution reaches those customers in production, that great idea that’s somewhere in the softwaredevelopment?
Is collaborative softwaredevelopment enough? DevOps changed softwaredevelopment – whether cloud-native, cloud-hosted or “Oops! The quality of collaboration in softwaredevelopment is measured by a direct line of sight into the customer experience, but there’s more to it than feature agility.
The Race Toward Feature Agility The answer to remaining competitive lies in accelerating the journey from traditional forms of softwaredevelopment toward feature agility – finding what your customers value and figuring out how to get it into your development process faster. Optimize cloud economics and drive Business Goals.
Learning as a method to make the most of technical debt is a core value in the world of time-boxed development. It matters less whether time is allocated to manage technical debt within a single sprint, or a dedicated sprint in a release cycle. The key insight is that one attends to managing technical leverage continuously over time.
If you don’t want to manage all of the infrastructure around Iceberg (plus allocating headcount to do this!) Typical data lake storage solutions include AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage (ADLS), Google Cloud Storage (GCS) or Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS). Iceberg is one ingredient in the fully packaged Tabular lakehouse.
Data Protection Classify, encrypt, manage and monitor data at rest and data in transit Incident Response There will be security incidents you have not anticipated. Start assessing what you will need to do by reviewing the AWS Well-Architected Security Pillar design principles and Google’s DevOps tech: Shifting left on security. #2
AWS, Microsoft, Salesforce) to integrate, co-market, and grow together. Unlike in-house developers that build tools for internal use, ISVs create software intended for external customers. An ISV partner is a software vendor that formally collaborates with a larger technology provider.
Only the best DAST tools provide automated tools to help you catalogue your APIs so that you never forget to test an endpoint and so that your API management burden also reduces. Setup complexity: The tools should be easy to set up and integrate with existing development processes and tools, minimizing disruption to your team's workflow.
Before I joined the venture capital industry many years ago, I was a softwaredeveloper, and I worked for a startup around the 2000 time period. Retail was mentioned twice, that’s it, and AWS was mentioned 78 times, so it’s probably not surprising that they’re doing this.
SaaS companies deliver software applications over the internet on a subscription basis, simplifying access and management for users. While they operate under different business models, ISVs and SaaS share similarities in softwaredevelopment, cross-platform accessibility, and industry reach. What are SaaS companies?
I started just with regular softwaredevelopment, doing software of different kinds. And so when Amazon called me and they’re like, “Hey you want to come with us and do you want to actually start the mobile services, backend business within AWS?” And then I started selling.

In this post, we’re featuring our Senior Director of Product – Product Management, Bill Wilson! But on top of that, I’m also working with the product management team on all the new initiatives coming up and figuring out how SalesRight and FastSpring will integrate! My first job in tech was in 1998 as a softwaredeveloper.
In this post I’m going to share the most important lessons about growing a SaaS business that I learned at Buildium—collectively, these things had an awful lot to do with the company being valued so highly. And working in the property management industry? I was managing a team of 15 and the company had grown to about 140 employees.

These types of SaaS application security tools helps your development and security teams test security controls within your apps and APIs, particularly critical controls like authentication and access management, secure database operations and encryption and others. Want to make your developers self-reliant with application security?
The application security landscape is constantly changing, and with the increased frequency of software application breaches in recent years, it's crucial that companies are able to protect their applications and softwaredevelopment life cycle from cyberattacks.
In the highly competitive market of custom softwaredevelopment, adding a special twist to your appeal may be just what you need to attract potential customers and persuade them to pick your company out of a crowded field. The customer’s pain point: Softwaredevelopers are awfully expensive. We are cheaper.
A vulnerability assessment tools or virtual app scanning for your software team has become as important as your git repository or your ticket management system. That's why vulnerability management using cloud platform vulnerability scanning tools will help you find and fix security threats like: Poorly configured IAM policies.
This helps you cut down on costly upfront capital investments in hardware and software and save on recurring maintenance fees. Among the most popular cloud computing models, IaaS PaaS SaaS is mostly managed by system managers in different companies and is used by companies of all sizes. Ensure cloud security and compliance.
But a growing number of businesses - particularly those who are embracing self management principles - are beginning to flip the script. Simply put, activities like budgeting and forecasting are not compatible with self management. We don’t have any agreed upon budgets, or any sales reps with quotas.
Amazon also offers you the option to access the API using the AWS Command Line Interface (AWS CLI) or the AWSSoftwareDevelopment Kit (SDK). However, IAM (Identity and Access Management) users get many more benefits and accessibility like sending 10,000 emails per day.
For example, in the early days of Buildium we were marketing a product that helped landlords and small property management companies do things like collect rent and manage maintenance requests from their tenants online. Wistia is another company that I think is in a position to capitalize on product market appetite.
Table Of Contents Security testing tools are crucial in softwaredevelopment lifecycles because they empower you and your software teams to shift left and help your developers proactively detect and mitigate security weaknesses which can be a security threat if left unattended. AWS, Azure or GCP. Sounds too good?
DevOps is really a set of ideas and practices that emphasise a culture and environment where building, testing, and releasing software can happen rapidly, frequently, and more reliably.
