The biggest technology-driven trend to affect business in the coming years is synthetic media. Yet this phrase is rarely even uttered in boardrooms and on Zoom meetings. It’s time to clarify what synthetic media is, and why it’s going to be so impactful. Dear SaaStr: What Are Some Signs a StartUp Team is Going to Underperform or Overperform? Let me take a stab at signs a team will be underperforming. Outperforming is both seemingly obvious (strong team, strong market, proven ability to create products people want to use/buy) and also nebulous. But here are 5 factors in my experience that clearly demonstrate future underperformance even in seemly strong teams: All “Start-up Folks” This one may seem counterintuitive, but especially in
My laptop is faster than your cloud. For the last ten years, the data ecosystem has focused on big data - the bigger the data set, the more exciting. But most workloads aren’t massive. Few books have chronicled how innovation takes place – and how market leaders fail to seize it – as well as Clayton Christensen ’s seminal book The Innovator’s Dilemma. First published in 1997, the bestseller has influenced several generations of entrepreneurs, startup founders, and tech enthusiasts. It’s kind of a modern-day cautionary tale.
