Define the What But Delegate the How

Tom Tunguz

As we grow in our careers, we first become individual contributors, then managers of individuals, and then managers of managers. That transition is a tough one, and one that comes very quickly in startups. A bit flips and a leader must begin to delegate. Delegation is the only way a leader of a team or company develops leverage in the organization. Someone told me about a Vanity Fair interview with former President Obama.

Do all SaaS companies in the USA put late payment fees in their contract?

Many certainly do. Here is the standard clause in Salesforce’s MSA: A late payment fee clause is a good idea, and especially, to place prominently on your invoices. Why? Yes, vendors owned by PE firms and the like do this all the time (Marketo did this to us, and turned us off for 3 days due to us admittedly forgetting to pay the renewal).
