In the old days, we didn’t have to worry about finance too much. Companies grew more slowly, there was nothing for a CFO to really do for years, and you could sort of outsource everything and just keep an eye on the bank statement.
Have you ever been to a board meeting where 60 minutes were allocated on the agenda for discussion of a strategic topic? What happened in that session? You probably started late because board meetings are hard to keep on time. Some exec, maybe the CEO, probably presented a “few slides” to “tee up” the discussion. “A few” turned out to be 23.

Videos are a way for businesses to connect with their audience, empathize with them, and show they understand their struggles. When executed correctly, they are a powerful tool in every marketing strategy. Here are some pointers on optimizing your video editing workflow, saving you time and helping make more impactful videos.
In 2015, Dremio started in our offices. Today, the company announced its Series E at $2 billion valuation. The business has cemented itself as a foundational component of the Modern Data Stack. About seven years ago, Dremio’s founder Tomer envisioned a product that would enable customers to manage data and compute separately. Today, we call this idea the data lakehouse and a query engine.

“Cookie-cutter” is one of the last things you’d wanna hear when it comes to describing your marketing. “Marked by lack of originality or distinction.” “Exactly like others.” “Not enough attention is paid to individual differences.” In a marketing world where thousands of similar businesses are vying for the same customers, this type of marketing simply won’t cut it.
Q: Dear SaaStr: What are Some Rookie Mistakes Founders Make During VC Meetings? We did a version of this post answer / post pre-Covid, and most of it still held in the new world of post-Covid VC investing. But not all. The velocity, the pace, and the strategy has changed. Here’s the thing about Women in Tech. For a movement that was created to address the lack of female representation in the industry, it can also play into many shallow debates, preconceived ideas, and harmful expectations. From being the token woman who always gets invited to redeem all-male panels to snide comments about how “she’s just a diversity hire,” the term “women in tech” can sometimes feel more like a burden than a blessing.
“Acquisition, conversion, and churn often require major cross-functional efforts to improve. Pricing typically requires replacing a small number with a bigger one.” -Patrick McKenzie. Small tweaks to your SaaS billing practices can make a huge impact on the customer experience. For example, Jon Torres — a digital marketing consultant specializing in SaaS commerce — noticed that, for some of his clients, refund requests spiked around renewal time. “It turned out that many refund requests happened because the company had failed to inform customers about their upcoming billing cycle,” Jon told us.

The kind of case studies that share the entire process from A-Z and give you the whole picture so you can draw your own conclusions and then test that approach on your own. .
