Preparing for interview questions in softwareengineering is almost a full-time job. If you are a graduate softwareengineer and getting ready for your first job interviews, here are the different areas you should focus on. Then I am able to ask more relevant questions during the interview.
The engineeringinterview presents a unique opportunity to showcase your company’s engineering culture and values to potential new hires. After spending months interviewing at companies of various sizes and success, I saw firsthand the unique styles of interviewing and testing across our industry.
And in the software world, an A player is worth 10+ C players! When we interview potential developers, we’re always amazed at how many can’t answer basic programming questions. And the #1 symptom relates to that old softwareengineering adage: The first 90% of a project takes half the time.
According to the managers, the most common reasons new employees failed were: And what was the biggest takeaway for managers interviewed? They needed better interview processes to weed out the failures before they joined their teams. To any rational person, this makes no sense. The common denominator isn’t the 46% of employees.

There’s a set of skills that overlap with the skills of softwareengineering, data science, or analytics, but they’re not the same as it. We’re at this weird intersection of softwareengineering, and we have to be able to deploy these products with data science or research. That’s difficult.
On the other hand, a technical product manager brings in-depth technical knowledge to guide the development process , often working closely with engineering and design teams. They gather data through surveys , interviews, and focus groups to identify user pain points and ways the company can address them.
